These composite images are a nod to my love for pets and that design can still have some whimsy despite all the technical work that goes into it. These gifs within the page illustrate the varying steps to make an image like this believable.

The biggest challenge involved knowing how to adjust the lighting on the animals fur and making shadows that respect the logic of where the cat/dog is located.
The best solution to this problem was the easiest one, which is to use the already existing streetlights as a reference to how parts of the street would darken, and how it would potentially also stay lit due to the reflection of the fur.
